The Hong Kong Institute of Education is a publicly funded self-accrediting institution offering a full range of doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees, as well as postgraduate diplomas and other professional development programmes to over 8,000 pre-service students and serving teachers. Curator - Hong Kong Museum of Education (Ref: Curator/LIB/0810) The Hong Kong Institute of Education is seeking a committed and self-motivated person to take up an exciting position as the Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Education. The appointee will be responsible for the management of facilities, collections, services and programmes of the Museum. His/Her duties include formulating policies and strategies for the Museum and its collections; leading the Museum's operations including financial and human resources related aspects; handling acquisitions, collection management and exhibition programmes; collaborating with other cultural organizations; supervising the development and operation of the Hong Kong Education Image Database and image collection relating to Hong Kong's educational heritage. He/She will report to the Director of the Hong Kong Museum of Education.
Applicants should have post-graduate qualifications in museum studies or related disciplines with extensive experience and a strong professional background in the management of museum operations; and knowledge of the latest trends and practices in the curating of museum collections. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills are essential. Working experience gained in higher education or education sector in general would be an advantage. Proficiency in both English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is highly desirable.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Electronic Resources Librarian
The Li Ka Shing Library invites dynamic, innovative, service-oriented individuals to apply for the position of Electronic Resources Librarian to be part of the team that is shaping and redefining Technical Services for a 21st century library.
The position reports to the Assistant University Librarian for Technical Services. In a collaborative environment, the Electronic Resources Librarian will provide the leadership for the development, access and delivery of electronic resources and support the continuous development of the electronic resource management systems and tools. The position also manages a small print serials collection in the Library.
The successful candidate is flexible, responsible and enthusiastic and has the ability to work with diverse groups and function effectively as a team player or team leader to support electronic collections development and management. S/He is knowledgeable on trends effecting collection building such as electronic publishing and open access, in a library environment that emphasizes access.
Responsibilities: 1. Manage the lifecycle of electronic resources from selection, subscription, licensing, renewal, access and to user support 2. Manage the print serials subscription, issues receiving and preservation 3. Negotiate license agreements to obtain the best possible terms and conditions, and evaluate vendor performance 4. Work with Research Librarians on subscription, negotiation and administration of licensed electronic resources, monitor contracts and maintain information accuracy in electronic resources management systems 5. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support efficient operations of Technical Services 6. Administer use and development of Serials and Electronic Resources Management modules and linking management tools 7. Maintain systematic record keeping, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports related to electronic resources and associated issues 8. Work with technical services staff in Acquisitions and Cataloging & Metadata Services on procurement and bibliographic control of electronic resources 9. Work with Systems Librarian to resolve technical problems and troubleshoot access issues for electronic resources 10. Supervise a team of para-professionals 11. Participate in training sessions for new students
Requirements: 1. A Master's degree in library or information science from a recognized university 2. Relevant experience in an academic research library with three or more years is preferred 3. Experience using Serials and Electronic Resources Management systems, preferably Millennium (Innovative Interfaces, Inc) 4. Experience with acquisitions processes for electronic resources, e.g. licensing, access provision, electronic resource management 5. Proven ability to: - Interpret and apply library policy - Analyze and solve problems - Organize and manage complex activities - Generate new ideas - Use new technology to advance work goals - Attention to details as is accuracy 6. Supervisory and managerial experience 7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 8. Experience with linking management tools such as AtoZ (EBSCO) is preferred 9. Knowledge of MARC21 format for bibliographic data as well as Holding data of electronic resources is preferred 10. Extensive knowledge of current library resources, practices and policies; substantial knowledge of library profession trends, theories and best practices as they integrate into the delivery of user services
