The Medical, Health & Welfare Libraries Committee (MedCom) of Hong Kong Library Association is a forum founded in 1994 for medical, health and welfare librarians in Hong Kong. MedCom aims at promoting librarianship, information technology and knowledge management in the health & welfare sectors and encouraging co-operation among medical, health & welfare libraries. In order to facilitate communication among medical, health and welfare libraries in Hong Kong, in 1996 MedCom published the Guide to Hong Kong Medical, Health and Welfare Libraries and Information Resources. In 2000, MedCom started compiling an online directory of medical, health and welfare libraries in Hong Kong. Thanks to the generous help of many MedCom members, HKLA Council members, librarians, helpers, and the support of libraries listed in the directory, this unique Directory of Medical, Health & Welfare Libraries in Hong Kong is now online.
