We are glad to announce that HKLA is going to have a study trip to Taiwan in the coming May. To develop international relationship with the library organizations overseas has long been one of the main objectives of HKLA. This year, we are glad that we will be warmly greeted by the Library Association of the Republic of China (Taiwan) 中華民國圖書館學會 in this fantastic study tour to Taiwan. Through the visit and the experience sharing sessions with the Association and various libraries, it will definitely enhance the communication and future working relationship between our library counterparts there. As such, the HKLA cordially invites you members to enrol early and to share this valuable experience with all of us.
Our targets include:
1. National libraries/museums
- National Central Library (國家圖書館)
- National Palace Museum - Library (國立故宮博物院暨文獻館)
- National Museum of Taiwan Literature (國立臺灣文學館)
- Academia Historica (國史館 - 參訪文獻保存及維護)
2. Public libraries
- Taipei Public Library & Beitou Branch (台北市立圖書館 及 北投分館)
- Puli Public Library (埔里公共圖書館)
3. Academic libraries
- Kun Shan University Library(臺南崑山科技大學圖書館)
- National Cheng Kung University Library (國立成功大學圖書館)
- National Taiwan University (國立臺灣大學圖書館)
4. Fu Ssu-Nien Library (傅斯年圖書館)
To know more about Taiwan, we shall also visit some "must go" site like Taipei 101, Sun Moon Lake (日月潭), night markets (夜市) ... etc.

HKLA Study Trip to Taiwan
Dates: May 23 - 28, 2009 (Sat. to Thur.)
Itinerary: HK -> Kaohsiung City -> Taichung -> Taipei -> HK (6 days)
Price:
HKLA members - HK$6,300 to HK$6,800 ; non-HKLA members - HK$6,800 to HK$7,300 includes
- return flight and taxes via DragonAir
- 5-night accommodation (1/2 twin room) in 4-5 star hotels. The surcharge for a single room is HK$1,950.
- regular breakfast, lunch and dinner
- regular transportation
- admission fees to some tourist sites
- tips for agent and tour guide
- group travel insurance
But it does not include the cost for other non-regular activities.
