Each of the courses is described on the Online Lyceum web site with an indication that it is either a Collaborative Learning Event or a Self-Paced Instructional Module. Collaborative Learning Events are characterized by predetermined start and end dates and facilitates interaction with a global network of participants. Self-Paced Instructional Modules are designed for participants to work entirely at their own pace. Content and technical support for the courses is organized to respond to the time schedules of participants throughout Australia and East Asia as well as North America. Other information including registration contacts and technical requirements is provided on the web site:
- Coaching for Performance
- Effective Decision Making
- Goal Setting
- Measuring Library Services Quality
- The Role of Assessment in Advancing Diversity for Libraries
- Web Development Series: Designing Simple Accessible Web Sites
http://www.arl.org/training/lyceum.htmlIn addition to responding to the needs of individual library staff members, the Online Lyceum personnel and the entire Office of Leadership and Management Services will work with your library, association, or consortium to respond to the professional development needs of that organization. The Online Lyceum will provide a separate course offering to an individual library or library system. Online courses can also be combined with in-person training events from the Office of Leadership and Management Services.
Online Lyceum staff are also interested in exploring collaborative options
with libraries and library organizations such as shared course development and
partnerships with library and information schools. For more information,
