Aspects of Librarianship in the Digital Environment Seminar on Aspects of Librarianship in the Digital Environment

How to balance the printed collection with the electronic resources is one of the frequently asked questions in the profession.  The Hong Kong Library Association and Hong Kong Public Libraries jointly organized a talk by Prof. Ross Harvey, distinguished information scientist from Charles Sturt University, on 27 August.  Prof. Harvey's topic was "Do libraries need to keep printed material in the digital environment?"

In the same event, Prof. Joseph Meloche shared with members his ideas on another important topic for our profession, i.e. "Life-long learning for librarians in the digital environment."

Their insightful talks received an overwhelming response from members.  As seen from the photos, there was a full house of about 100 participants in the Activity Room of the Central Library.
