Encouraged by the successful library summer workshop last year, the Lingnan University Library organized another workshop this year from 17 to 24 July for 26 library professionals from the Chinese Mainland.  The themes were on digital library development, information services, and library management skills.

The objectives of the workshop are to enrich the participants' knowledge of modern library and information management, to enhance their practical skills, and to expand their horizons on IT trends.  There were active discussions on issues of common concern and dynamic exchange of ideas throughout the workshop.  Distinguished local speakers, including Dr. Anthony Ferguson (University of Hong Kong Libraries), Mrs. Rita Wong (Chinese University of Hong Kong Libraries) and Mrs. Linda Lee (Hong Kong University of Science & Technology Library), were invited to share their experience.  Visits to some academic and public libraries were also organized.

The workshop was successful in reinforcing the cooperation between Lingnan University library and the participating institutions.
