January, the Association hosted a tea party and dinner for the LARC delegates
Mr. M. Quinn, chairman of the Association, Mr. H.A. Rydings and Dr. Kan Lai-bing formed a working group to explore on the feasibility of giving professional librarianship courses in Hong Kong.
May, Mr. K.C. Harrison hosted a subject talk to the Association.
June, the first joint examination in English and Chinese for the “Certificate for the Library Assistants” was held.
August, Dr. Kan Lai-bing and Miss S.C. Au-yeung presented a country paper for Hong Kong at the First Conference on International Cooperation for the Asian Libraries held in Tamsui, Taipei.
Mr. James Thompson hosted a subject talk to the Association.
