March, the Association hosted a dinner with the delegates from “Macau Library and Information Management Association”
April, the paper “50 years’ silent cultivation: A brief history of Hong Kong Library Association” by the President Mr. Jim Chang was published in the “Public Library Journal”, No. 1, 2009 of Shenzhen Library.
April, Mr. Derek Whitehead hosted a subject talk to the Association.
April, the President Mr. Jim Chang was invited to be the prize presentation guest in a reading programme 2009 organized by the Hong Kong Education City (HKedCity).
August, the Association hosted the “Hong Kong Library Education an Career Forum”
August, Prof. Eric Tsui hosted a “Personal Knowledge Management Tools” workshop
October, the Association visited the “Library Association of the Republic of China” at Taiwan.
The “HKLA Biennial Award” was set up.
December, the Association launched a bilingual homepage with traditional and simplified Chinese versions.
