January, the 3-year part-time Diploma Course in Librarianship jointly presented by the Association and the Department of Extra-Mural Studies, University of Hong Kong commenced with an enrolment of 24 students.
March, a seminar on “Online Information Retrieval Services in the Hong Kong Context” organized by the Association was held at the American Library
April, an informal seminar on Chinese Library Automation organized by the Association was held at the American Library
